Biography

Chuck Opperman was like many students of the University of Colorado upon graduation - raring to go and make his mark in the big world. But unlike many students, Chuck's main concern was not jumping into the job market, but finding excitement and fulfillment. He found both in the Peace Corps., and spent two years in Ecuador, helping the government there develop a national tourism industry.

Returning to Boulder, Chuck spent a few years introducing the community to the fine crafts made in South America as an importer and retailer. It was then that Chuck became involved in the preservation of historic buildings, finding the buildings of downtown Boulder ideal for his efforts. This interest in property grew into a career in real estate, which has become his way of life. Chuck has been a real estate professional since 1973, and in that time has learned the value of property and its importance to people, both as an investment and as a link to the past and the earth. As a lover of old buildings and ranch properties, Chuck understands that property is a "relationship between where we are and where we came from." His job is to help people like you make the right decisions about where they're going.

After getting married, Chuck and his wife bought their first car together, a brand new Land Rover ($3,500) which he still owns. He has been a fan of Land Rovers ever since and today belongs to the local Solihull Society of Land Rover owners. Chuck has also owned Bentleys over the years and so today is an active member of the local Rolls Royce/Bentley Owners Club.

More recently Chuck and his wife have become owners of three Peruvian Paso horses and enjoy trail riding the many Open Space and mountain trails that are so abundant around Boulder. Membership in the Centennial State Peruvian Horse Club, The Rio Grande Club , the Boulder County Horse Association, and the Colorado Horse Council are now part of their regular activities.

Continuing Chuck's interest in preservation and community work, Chuck is a member of the Altona Grange in rural Boulder County where the members have worked hard to restore the old Grange Hall and bring new life to its role as host to many community events. For the last several years Chuck has co-sponsored the Fall series of three Blue Grass Concerts as fund raisers for the Grange and the Colorado Blue Grass Society.

Confidence is the first thing you notice about Chuck. He has confidence in his own abilities and skills, which he has developed through years of dealing with all kinds of transactions. His knowledge is vast, and his work as a former director of the Boulder Area Board of Realtors means he is constantly in touch with the latest trends and changes in the market. Chuck's experience in international relations and international business makes Chuck the intelligent choice for people looking for foreign buyers and overseas investors seeking the right investment. He is a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS).

Whether buying or selling homes, land or ranches in Colorado, Chuck is the right choice. Remember his motto: Results, Plain and Simple. That is what Chuck will work to achieve for you.
